Under Where?

This past weekend Elyse and I found our way to Topeka, only about a 30 min drive, to check out the mall. While we were there I bought the coolest undershirt I’ve ever owned (pictured below). Elyse got the same shirt because she liked mine so much. As long time Star Wars fans, we couldn’t help but love these shirts.

Danni & Luke - July 22, 2008 - 7:22 am

Without focusing too much on the collar, that could pass for a tattoo! Cool shirt ya’ll!

Madelyn - July 22, 2008 - 9:55 am

I said no tattoos!

Jessica - July 22, 2008 - 6:58 pm

i like the shirt. i hope you guys had a good time at the mall.

Jon Thomas - July 23, 2008 - 9:42 pm

did Elyse get one of Han Solo?

Photobooth Fun

We got a photobooth for our wedding so that our guests would have something to do and be able to have an instant memory of our wonderful wedding day. Little did we know that when we got the disc of all of the pictures from the whole day we would love them so much.

We went through all of the pictures and picked out some of our favorites to share with everyone. Also, we wanted to give a shout out to our homie, Loren Smith, for earning the title of “Most Photographed in the Photobooth.” Thank you again everyone for the great (and funny) memories.

Danni & Luke - July 20, 2008 - 12:01 am

I could look at these all day, HA :) ! There are so many funny pictures and I bet a lot of these people didn’t know that we would all have access to them! Hilarious! Loren must have been hanging near the booth for a while, you have to admit she is photogenic though! You should come up with funny captions to put under each picture :) !

Tyson Brown - July 20, 2008 - 1:32 am

THose are awesome, especially Range(“B7″).Value…

Tyson Brown - July 20, 2008 - 1:32 am

This is not going to be moderated! :)

kooru - July 21, 2008 - 10:51 pm

Do I get a prize for Least Photographed?

Miss Deedee - July 24, 2008 - 11:25 pm

We should seriously consider using the photo booth for our next church directory!

Tyson Brown - August 1, 2008 - 6:30 pm

Oh man, that is such a great idea! I love it… Make it so.

Our Life [in boxes]

Last week as we took everything out of its box we just put them in our garage. Then we couldn’t even get in our garage. We finally decided to break down all the boxes and take them to a recycling bin. There was so much cardboard that it filled up my truck and I’m not sure if anyone else could use that recycling bin for a while.

Then good news is we got most of our garage back!

Danni & Luke - July 17, 2008 - 10:05 am

Almost finished moving in! :)

Kevin - July 17, 2008 - 11:57 am

Chris and Elyse, What’s going on out in KS? Hope all is well. Colleen and I will be going through Lawrence sometime during the week of the 17th of August. Maybe we can drop by and say hi. facebook me and let us know.

Save Jess and I a piece. Now thats what I call a dinner. By the way hope the toothache is better. Love the pics of the storms and the lightning. Next time you’re in a corn field with a storm coming bring a grill, burgers and you have the corn. Jess says I should stop but you both get me sense of humor.

Bunch of FREE stuff

So today was my first day of work for Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Lawrence, Kansas! Yeay my first full time job out of college! My job tiltle is Six Sigma Engineer.

I’m excited to hopefully learn a lot in my new job and get some awesome Six Sigma training under my belt. I’m going to get some Black Belt training in Houston over the next few months, but more to come about that later. My first day of work was great and was mostly orientation and benfits/medical info.

I also bought some steel-toed boots today. Well, I didn’t know there was such a thing as steel-toed tennis shoes, but that’s what I got b/c they are better. My job is basically in quality control and Lean (cost savings) and I will spend about 50% of the time on the 350,000 sq. ft manufacturing floor, so now my toes will now be safe from the machinery!

Schlumberger is in the Oil industry and the plant where I work maufactures motors. More specifically, they start with copper wire and coldwork it etc. to get it to the size they want to work with to make different types of wires to power motors that pump oil.

Danni & Luke - July 15, 2008 - 10:34 am

S.S. Elyse(six sigma), ha! I love it! That is your new ship name! I am so happy that you are enjoying your new career at Schlumberger(fun word)! You are right, that is a lot of free stuff-cool! Also, love the steel toe shoes, gotta have style :)

Madelyn - July 15, 2008 - 2:56 pm

Any excuse to buy shoes is good with me but steel toes!! You want have to worry about Chris stepping on your toes!

Ronnie - July 16, 2008 - 7:15 pm

I love the shoes Elyse!! Definitely shoes that a girl can work hard in but still have style!! I’m glad everything is going well. Good luck with your job and the more free stuff, the better!!! haha

Danni & Luke - July 22, 2008 - 10:29 am

Hope that week #2 is going well S.S. Elyse!

Dad - July 26, 2008 - 2:07 pm

Save me a coffee mug for Georgia! Can’t wait to visit you! I guess you’ll have the boxes unpacked by October? We may have to come befor then.

First Southern

When Elyse and I came on our house hunting trip we tried out First Baptist Church here in Lawrence but we didn’t know until we got there that it was an American Baptist church. It was fine, it was just a little different than what we were use to. Later on in our trip we found First Southern Baptist Church but we were unable to attend any of its services but we planned on visiting that church our first Sunday back.

This morning we attended the contemporary service at FSBC. The service was good, the music was great, and the doctrine was sound.

We really enjoyed church today and plan on visiting there again!

Tyson Brown - July 14, 2008 - 9:25 pm

It’s funny to see the word “Southern” in the church name… Sorta take that for granted around here!

Nancy - August 10, 2008 - 9:09 pm

First Southern Baptist Church on West Sixth Street say that 3 times fast. Has anyone there had to “shosh” you both yet? I love this e-mail stuff and I didn’t need Jess to get me here. I do miss you guys so does Jess.
