  • Welcome to our Blog!

We are so excited to have you visit our blog.

We decided that keeping a blog would be the best way for us to keep our friends and family updated on what we have been up to since we moved from Florida to Lawrence, Kansas.

We like knowing that you visited our site, so please leave some comments. Thanks so much for stopping by; we hope you enjoy the stories and pictures.

Winter Storm Q

Early this morning Winter Storm Q came through Lawrence. We had been warned that there would be a heavy downfall of snow, and it started coming true at about 7am and continued through the morning. At times, snow was falling at a rate of 4″ per hour.

Winter Storm Q

We probably got about 10″ of accumulation today with 3′ drifts (the retaining wall in front of our shed is 3′ tall and you can barely see it!) We shoveled snow multiple times throughout the day to try to keep up with it.

After work and shoveling we took my truck out for a spin. We did some in-town driving as well as country roads. We saw quite a few stuck, abandoned cars on the road. Sometimes off to the side and sometimes right in the middle of an intersection or entrance/drive. The forecast says more snow tonight and then a break til Monday…

¡Feliz Cumpleaños Bruce!

Our buddy Bruce had his birthday this month. He invited a bunch of friends to a local mexican restaurant to help him celebrate. This particular place gives you a wonderful hat sombrero to wear while they sing to you. As you can tell by his face, he was a good sport about it all. Family, friends, food, the grand-baby, and free ice cream…it doesn’t get any better!

Happy Birthday Bruce

Tell Bruce Happy Birthday for us!

Cirque Du Soleil: Quidam

Chris took me to see Cirque Du Soleil: Quidam in Kansas City. It was a great show and definitely lived up to my expectations; I’ve been wanting to go for a long time! It was a fun night with quite a bit of crowd interaction where they brought people up on stage for funny skits.

Cirque Du Soleil

My favorite parts were all the aerial acts. In the part pictured below  there was a person on each rope being spun very fast! In other scenes they did aerial silk and hoop acts. They can do such amazing things and are up so high; its very impressive!

Here we are enjoying the aerial swing and also a very tough balancing act.

Thank you Sprint Center for bringing Quidam to town!
