While we were in Florida for the 4th of July, we got to do lots of fun things, the best of which was hanging out with our families and friends! As you’ll see in the slide show, we loved getting some boat time with wake boarding, tubing with the cousins, and watching Dad and Josh knee boarding! Thanks Uncle Bob and Aunt Joy for bringing the boat; and Josh, I had a great time tubing with you! We also enjoyed some Cuban sandwiches at Keystone Corner, going to a TB Rays game, and Frisbee golf in Clearwater. On the 4th, the highlight was Chris and Cole setting off the fireworks from the dock. They did a great job with the show and picked out some awesome fireworks. At the end of our trip we even ran into our friends Mr. Z and Danielle at the airport!
It’s been an incredibly hot and dry summer here in Kansas and we happen to have one thunderstorm pop up out of nowhere. Here is a really good reason why we don’t ride in the rain (normally)…
Just a sign we ran across…
The other night, Elyse and I met a bunch of riders from Johnson County that just happen to be riding through Lawrence. We decided to join them on their ride and we ended up in Kansas City at The Plaza. It was fun to meet new people and ride on some new roads.
Around Mother’s Day, Mom and Dad came to Kansas to visit. We had a great time while they were here! We went to Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas and also got in some good frisbee golf time. For Mother’s Day we took Mom on a canoe trip down the Kansas River. We were curious if it would be an exciting trip since it is such a big river, but it turned out to be no problem. We stopped at a sandbar to walk around and saw a coyote on the other bank. We also had Mom and Dad help us pick out and plant some flowers in front of our new shed!
We aren’t too excited about these 100+ temperatures that we’re having here in Lawrence. HELP!!!
While our friend was out of town we helped watch his Rottweilers for a few days. Chita has known these guys since they were puppies. She wasn’t sure what to think of them when they were tiny, and it looks like she is still keeping her eye on them!
